Description:
Responsible for planning menus in accordance with the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Perform nutritional analysis on all recipes and menus to determine nutritional adequacy for all students of all abilities.
Duty Days: 226 Days
Salary (Based on 2021-2022 Compensation Plan):
Minimum: $58,000
(Salary offered will be based on commensurate experience)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, Dietetics, or closely related field
- Registered Dietician preferred
- Texas Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and data
- Ability to multitask appropriately, prioritize, be detail-oriented, and be goal driven
- Knowledge of special dietary requirements for students with life threatening allergies or disabilities
- Skill in recipe standardization, development and testing for quality food products
- Ability to speak to large groups
Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience in menu planning, food purchasing, and preparation of foods in a public school setting.
