Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, assist with the overall health and wellness of the students at assigned campus. Administer medication, assist with screenings and procedures, and provide temporary and emergency care for sick and injured students or staff in the clinic. The LVN performs nursing functions and shared nursing responsibilities according to the scope of practice outlined by the Nurse Practice Act of the state.
Start Date: December, 2024
Salary Range: (Based on 2024-2025 Compensation Plan)
Minimum: $25.50/hour
Salary commensurate with related experience

Qualifications:
Current Texas license as an LVN
Graduate of an accredited program for licensed practical nurses
Experience in the nursing of children
Commitment to the importance of optimum health for each student
Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
CPR Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects
Ability to implement policies and procedures
Ability to use personal computer
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
